Honourable Consul General of India, H.E. Satish Kumar Sivan, accompanied by his team including Ms. Tadu Mamu (Consul Labor), orchestrated a visit to the Iranian Hospital, which was attended by the UIBC-UC team. The primary objective of this visit was to
delve into the operational framework of the Iranian Hospital, with a specific focus on exploring the feasibility of establishing a hospital tailored to cater to the needs of the large blue-collar diaspora, offering subsidized yet high-quality healthcare services.
The reconnaissance visit commenced with a meeting with Dr. Mohammad Fathi, the Director General of the Iranian Hospital.
Established in 1972, the Iranian Hospital holds historical significance as the first healthcare facility in Dubai, following a royal decree issued by HH Sheikh Rashid Al Makhtoum, the then ruler of Dubai. Operated under the auspices of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), the hospital appoints a full-time Director General and operates as a not-for-profit entity. Serving as a beacon of healthcare accessibility, the hospital caters to diverse segments of society, with a substantial portion of its patient demographic comprising individuals of Indian and African descent.
