Mr. Faizal Kottikollon, Chairman of the UAE-India Business Council UAE Chapter (UIBC-UC), met with His Excellency Helal S. K. Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), to discuss shared priorities and emerging opportunities for strengthening the India-UAE partnership.
A central focus of their engaging exchange was the upcoming India-UAE Partners in Progress Conclave, slated to take place on May 15, 2025, in Dubai, in collaboration with the India Today Group. Mr. Faizal extended a warm invitation to H.E. Almarri to attend the high-level event, recognizing his influential role in shaping Dubai’s status as a global economic and innovation hub.
The day-long Conclave aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and subject-matter experts to advance dialogue on expanding India-UAE trade ties beyond traditional sectors, while also deepening cooperation in education, culture, and innovation.
India’s recent emergence as the top source of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Dubai—with $3 billion invested—was a key theme of the meeting. Both sides explored pathways to further elevate this economic momentum, especially through collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and nurturing world-class talent.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Mohamed Sharaf, Chief Operating Officer for Investment Attraction at the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC); Mr. Tarek Mahmoud, Manager for Investment Attraction at DET; and Mr. Kshitij Korde, Head of Corporate Affairs at UIBC-UC.
The dialogue marked a convergence of vision and purpose—reflecting the shared commitment of both nations to a forward-looking, innovation-driven future. The Partners in Progress Conclave is poised to be a landmark moment in this evolving strategic relationship.
