On April 8th, 2025, a new chapter in UAE-India relations took place with the launch of the UAE India Friendship Hospital in Mumbai, witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Ceremonially, the signing of a landmark MoU between Dubai Health and the five founding trustees of the hospital Mr. Faizal Kottikollon, Chairman of UIBC-UC and Chairman of KEF Holdings; Mr. Tariq Chauhan, Board member of UIBC-UC and Vice Chairman of EFS Facilities Services Group; Mr. Nilesh Ved, Board member of UIBC-UC and Chairman of Apparel Group; Mr. Siddharth Balachandran, Founding member of UIBC-UC and Executive Chairman and CEO of Buimerc Corporation; and Mr. Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, Chairman of Transworld Group of Companies, creating a strategic partnership to fulfilthe vision of providing high-quality, affordable healthcare services to Dubai's vital blue-collarworkforce.
Also present from the UIBC UC team was Kshitij Korde, Head of Corporate Affairs. This partnership not only showcases the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also demonstrates the increasing healthcare collaboration between the UAE and India at a time when access to quality healthcare is more important than ever.
The founding trustees acknowledged how monumental this partnership is, and how the hospital’s vision and goal is aligned with their goal in shifting access to healthcare for the workforce in Dubai. They extended their gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as Dubai Health, the Community Development Authority (CDA), Indian Embassy in UAE, andConsulate General of India in Dubai, UAE-India Business Council UAE Chapterfor their collective efforts that brought this initiative to life.
The signing of the MoU on Hospital is reflective of leadership, of both His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Prime Minster Narendra Modi's vision, and are aligned with Dubai Social Agenda 33 promoting health-well-being and efficiency of the health-care system. Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health emphasize the significance of this collaboration meant to enhance patient-centred healthcare services. The UIBC-UC is now active since 2023, continues to reinforce bilateral ties, economic cooperation, and fostering strategic investments between the UAE and India.
